Why Bare Health Is Made in New Zealand

We met behind a pharmacy counter. One of us was on the dispensary side, watching people come in day after day looking for something to help them feel better. The other had spent more than a decade in natural health and biotech, helping people find supplements that actually made a difference.

What we kept seeing was the same problem. People who genuinely wanted to look after their health, but felt overwhelmed by the options and unsure whether any of it was worth the money.

Walk into most pharmacies and you’ll see the problem for yourself. The shelves are full. The labels are long. Half the words mean nothing unless you’re a chemist, and the other half are promises nobody can really check.

So we built something smaller and more honest.

Why we stayed in New Zealand

Making supplements here was never the cheap option. It would have been easier to source everything offshore, put our name on a bottle and let someone else do the thinking. We didn’t want that.

Making our supplements in New Zealand means we can see who is making them, check the paperwork, and talk to the people behind the product. It also means our range is kept small on purpose. Fewer products, each one chosen carefully, rather than a wall of bottles that all promise the same thing.

We’re a family-owned business, not a faceless brand shipping in from somewhere else. If a customer has a question, a real person answers it.

What simple by design means to us

Simple doesn’t mean cutting corners. It means leaving out anything that doesn’t need to be there.

Take The Calm One. It’s magnesium, made with three ingredients chosen for a simple evening routine. We’d rather explain three good ingredients well than list twenty and hope nobody reads the label.

The Night Shift works the same way. No melatonin, no complicated routine. Just two capsules before bed, with each ingredient there for a reason.

Being honest about what supplements can and can’t do

Supplements support a healthy routine. They aren’t a replacement for decent sleep, good food, or seeing your doctor when something feels off. We’d never tell you a capsule will fix your life.

What we can do is make the choice simpler, and explain what’s in the bottle and why it’s there. That’s the part we care about most.

If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication, check with your healthcare professional before starting anything new.

Where to start

If you’re new to supplements, don’t try to take everything at once. Start with one thing that fits a gap you already know about.

Many people start with The Bare Base, our multivitamin. If you’re only going to take one supplement, make it this one. Two capsules. One simple daily habit.

If evenings are the hard part, look at The Calm One or The Night Shift. If your afternoons crash, The Day Shift is built for sustained focus, not jitters.

Simple by design. Made in New Zealand. That’s the Bare approach.
